Любовь и жертвенность с точки зрения художественной литературы и современной психологи. Романтизация психологических травм или высокое чувство. Будем говорить о любви со всех сторон.

Обсудим творчество гения короткого рассказа О. Генри и его рождественскую новеллу «Дары волхвов». И в конце вечера поймем в чем связь между рассказом о любви, отрезанными волосами, волхвами и Рождеством.

“Все началось с того, что я прочитала пьесу Ионеско «Носорог» и не согласилась с мнением критиков. Обсудить это мне было не с кем — никто не читал. Я страдала. И так, как страдать — это детская позиция, а я женщина категории 30+ и детское мне уже не идет, я решила брать дело в свои руки. 

Так родились мои литературные вечера, где я собираю людей, пересказываю им произведение, которое заинтересовало меня и к которому у меня появились вопросы.

Мне не интересно обсуждать, что имел в виду автор. Мне интересно побудить слушателя к самостоятельным рассуждениям. Например, переосмыслить такие вопросы: что такое быть человеком или что такое любовь. Или может не переосмыслить, а впервые их себе задать. Литература — это отличный предлог для того, чтобы подумать о себе и лучше себя понять.

Самостоятельное мышление — это полезный навык, особенно сейчас. Я вижу важным его развивать.”

Let’s discuss the work of the short story genius O. Henry and his Christmas novella “The Gift of the Magi.” And at the end of the evening we will understand the connection between the story of love, cut off hair, the Magi and Christmas.

“It all started when I read Ionesco’s play “The Rhinoceros” and did not agree with the opinion of the critics. I had no one to discuss this with – no one read it. I suffered. And just like suffering is a child’s position, and I am a woman of the category 30+ and baby clothes no longer suit me, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

This is how my literary evenings were born, where I gather people and retell to them a work that interested me and for which I had questions.

I’m not interested in discussing what the author meant. I am interested in encouraging the listener to think independently. For example, rethink questions such as what it is to be human or what love is. Or maybe not to rethink them, but to ask them for the first time. Literature is a great excuse to think about yourself and understand yourself better.

Thinking for yourself is a useful skill, especially now. I see it as important to develop it.”
