Poem without a hero by Anna Akhmatova

We invite you to a special lecture by Serafima Gurova about Akhmatova’s main work – Poem without a Hero.

The action of the poem takes place on the very Epiphany Eve, when the departed heroes of the era visit the poet. At the lecture, we will solve the great poet’s puzzles, scattered throughout the text; we will find out what kind of people surrounded her; what were the morals of the era.

The Poem contains not only riddles, but also keys that help us learn a lot about the life of Anna Andreyevna herself and the fate of her generation. Puzzle by puzzle, we will assemble a bright mosaic of the era of the 1910s, the fateful 30s and the hardest 40s.
