Carlos Nogueira “Os Dois Irmãos e a Bruxa”
12.00 €
Carlos Nogueira’s “The Two Brothers and the Witch” is a retelling of a traditional Portuguese tale that evokes the famous Brothers Grimm story “Hansel and Gretel”.
Description
“Once upon a time, there was a woman who had a son and a daughter. One day, she sent her son to gather five handfuls of lupine beans, and then said to them both: – I’m going to the forest to gather firewood. If I don’t return, follow the lupine pods I scatter along the path and keep walking until you find me.” But “The mother did not return, and the siblings followed the lupine pods she had dropped along the way.” Instead of their mother, the two children encounter an old woman who wants to bake them in the oven. With the help of a fairy, the two siblings manage to defeat the witch. Good triumphs over evil, courage overcomes fear.
