Jairo Arcila is a third generation coffee farmer from Quindia, Colombia.

He retired in 2019 after a successful 40-year career as mill manager for Colombia’s second largest coffee exporter.

After his retirement, he used the help of his two sons and began to focus on selective coffee. He now grows varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Java, Papayo and Gesha.

This microlot is 100% Caturra. This variety comes from Minas Gerais in Brazil. It is a natural mutation of the Red Bourbon variety. Caturra produces more coffee and is more resistant to plant diseases than Bourbon.

This microlot was subjected to aerobic fermentation for 24 hours, after which the coffee was placed in grainpro bags for 50 hours with CO2. During this process, the coffee was kept at a temperature below 22°C. Finally, the grains were gently washed and placed on raised beds.
